January 12th, 2011
When designing a new sign, most people take a lot of time adjusting the colors and making sure the design is just right. However, the real time should be spent on the text.
Think about your favorite companies. Most likely, you know their slogan as well. Your sign should read like a slogan. It should be quick and easy to read, but should also be memorable. Most people probably drive by your sign so if you overload it with text no one will have the chance to read the whole thing.
The text of a sign should let people know what services or products you provide without being too wordy. It should also give a hint towards your character and personality as a company.
